In 1996, Ida Siu & Shun Yen Siu were seasoned fashion industry veterans with several sought-after New York City factories when they joined with Deirdre Quinn to create Lafayette 148. In 2008 Mr. Siu pioneered the relocation of Lafayette 148’s manufacturing to his hometown of Shantou, China, where he oversaw the construction of the brand’s state-of-the-art production facility and design studio. Since Mr. Siu passed away in 2013, Mrs. Siu has continued to lend her expertise and keen entrepreneurial mind to keeping Lafayette 148 at the cutting edge of fashion manufacturing.
